Social environment is the most important aspect in learning and that the learning process is cognitive rather than behavioural. Allows for one to learn through watching others be rewarded or punished. This can be done through watching violent tv shows and playing violent video games in youths and then copying those learn behaviours. Bandura veri ed his ndings in his 1961 bobo doll case study. Children would watch adults bash and play aggressively with the bobo in atable doll. Afterwards, the children would be seen repeating the aggressive playing style as long as the role model was not punished for their actions. It fails to account for differences in cognition. Society puts pressure on individuals to achieve a socially accepted goals (such as the. American dream) though they lack the means, this leads to strain which may lead individuals to commit crimes. I. e. selling drugs or becoming involved in prostitution to gain nancial security.
