Social learning theory- the theory that we learn social behaviour (ex. aggression) by observing others and imitating them. Most people take their cues from others. Children frequently learn to solve conflicts aggressively by imitating adults and. The more aggressive players achieve the greatest game and the highest salaries. Bandura and bobo doll study: the children imitated the aggressive models and treated their peers, especially when they see that aggression is rewarded the doll in almost exactly the same ways. Some of them went beyond mere imitation, coming up w inventive new ways in. Many physically abusive people were themselves abused by their parents when which to beat up the doll they were kids. Children imitate the violence they see and are otherwise affected emotionally by all those exploding heads and guns. Anniversary of the shootings are associated w increased threats for at least 3-5 years afterward. Watching violence does increase the frequency of aggressive behaviour, angry emotions, and hostile thoughts.
