Document Summary
Computer: data processing device that performs four major functions: Input: gathers data or allows a user to enter data. Processing: processes the data it has and turns it into useful. Output: it displays data and information in a form suitable for the user. Storage: it stores data for later use information. Embedded computers: touch our everyday lives in devices ranging from digital cameras, digital recorders, and the electronic thermostat in your home. Binary language consists entirely of two numbers: 0 and 1, singularly called bits. Capital letters start with 010 and lower case letters with 011 Computer system unit: main part of desktop computer. Includes motherboard, cpu, ram, hard drive, optical drive, seek fan and other components. Motherboard: most import part of the system unit. Memory includes rom (holds instructions for start up located in the bio chip) and ram (that stores any files)
