Vulva and clitoris to signal the males whether the female is in heat or not. Oviducts = transport of oocyte and fertilization. Uterus = transport of spermatozoa to the site of fertilization, implantation, support for fetal development. Cervix = passage between uterus and vagina. Everything in suspension with ligaments, whereas anchored at pelvic bone in male. Labia major (female equivalent to scrotum in terms of the origin and location) + labia minor = vulva. Closure that minimize entrance to vagina (reduce risk of infection) Labia can swell with blood during estrus (pigs, dogs) = visual signal. Clitoris = erectile tissue equivalent to male penis. Reproductive tract and urethral are separated, whereas it is one tube in male. Cutaneous bridge is the part between anus and labia. Dorsal commissure: where left and right laiba fuse. Receive the penis during copulation and sustaining stress. Cow and mare (not sow): small crypt = fornix vaginae.
