Functional roles of appendicular skeleton: allows for completion of daily tasks, it allows for adjustments in body posture, and the lower limb allows for mobility of the body. Upper limb- scapula and clavicle: scapula: shoulder at pectoral girdle, triangular bone. Anterior view: three corners: vertebral border, axillary( arm pit) border, and. Superior border on top, on the anterior side of the bone there is a fan- shaped muscle attached that moves the shoulder blade: sub scapular fossa, provides attachment for a sub scapular muscle; rotating cuff muscle group. Supraspinous and infraspinous fossa scapular spine, a scapular spine is found there and the muscle of the same name attached, rotating cuff muscle. Acromion, large process- shoulder, the spine and acrmion gives attachment to two shoulder muscles. Coracoid process at the from the front, the short head will attach to this process. between the acromion and coracoid is a large joint socket, glenoid fossa: clavicle: neck aligned to shoulder bone.
