Document Summary

Error in sampling: there are two kinds of errors in sampling: sampling errors and non- sampling errors. Sampling errors: caused by the act of taking a sample, this causes the sample results to be different from the results of the census, there are two kinds of sampling errors: random sampling error and bad sampling methods. Bad sampling methods: they usually occur in convenience and voluntary response samples, when bad sampling methods are used, it can cause undercoverage, that is when some groups in the population are left out. Processing errors: these are errors due to mistakes in mechanical tasks such as keying in the wrong data or mistakes in calculations. Poorly worded questions: the question asked seems to be favouring a certain response. Response error: inaccurate response from the person being surveyed due to bad memory or deliberate lies. Non-response error: failure to obtain data necessary from an individual selected for a sample.
