Green taxes and carbon trading- permit trading regimes- more common types of instrumental trying to reduce volunteerism to reduce their production of greenhouse gas emissions. Another type of program: redd++ program: had criticism reducing emissions from deforestation, forest degradation and + = conserving forest carbon stocks and managing forests sustainably, 2nd plus (not always); addition focus incorporated into defense of the program. Including protection and communities that are connected to forests / dependent on forests it would not serve the interests and harm the intests in various ways or who lives on forests. Challenges are discussed in short critical: leakage, roles of ngos that are involved with global environment protection, how commited are they when they need to go against companies against, additionality. Measure at a national level and baseline and you pay the forests there ; adopt subnational measures and look at specific parts but treating them separately.
