Within subjects design: condition 1 - spaced: painting intermixed, condition 2 - massed: painting from a particular artist all at once. Results: spaced more consistent and better, massed worse but gradually increases (spaced > massed), (massed = spaced), (massed < spaced, the fact that massed practice seems better than spaced practice is a mistake.
