Improvements on wards/units come from changing an organization culture which is done by focusing on people and the contribution they can make. Innovation and change in clinical practice is directed by clinical leaders: by understanding what clinical leadership is, how clinical leadership leads to innovation, and how innovation can be anything that impacts pt care/organization services. In this regard, clinical leaders were seen to be displaying a congruent leadership approach. Innovation is bringing a better future and is the result of change that is designed or planned, or it can be the result of acting in ways that are consistent with or congruent with our values and beliefs.
