They have lots of chances to be promoted across platforms. Vertically integrated: studios control production, exhibition, and distribution, they determine what gets made and what gets made, of movies what gets seen. Era of golden age of hollywood studios. Motion picture production code: moral panics of effects of hollywood films on publics. Influencing sin and criminality: this code is effort by industry to avoid government morality censorships. No bathroom humour, drug use, prostitution, childbirth scenes. Stories about the underside of the american dream crime, corruption, social problems. Need to find innovate ways to get around motion production code eg mafia.
