Commonality between depressive and bipolar disorders is that they involve periods of depression. In dsm-3 and 4 were both lumped together under mood disorders. In dsm-5 they are in separate categories: depressive disorders, bipolar disorders. Depression is one of most common condiions prety high prevalence rate compared to other disorders. Disrupive mood regulaion disorder childhood disorder. Depressive disorder due to another medical condiion. Other speciied depressive disorder: recurrent brief depression, short-duraion depressive episode, depressive episode with insuicient symptoms. The outbursts are inconsistent with developmental level: wouldn"t expect someone this age to be acing like this subjecive. The outbursts occur, on average, 3-5 imes per week. The mood between outbursts is persistently irritable or angry most of the day, nearly every day, and is observable by others. The above criteria have been met for at least 12 months, and there has been no period of 3 or more consecuive months in which all the above criteria have not been met.
