Illuminate psychological functions, issues: dissociative, somatoform disorders, recent focus of public interest, research, adhd, asd (autism spectrum disorder, area of controversy, did (dissociative identity disorder) Course we will follow for each category: symptom description, dsm diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, prevalence, distribution, etiology (causes, functional, structural, genetic, treatments, physical, cognitive, behavioural. Causality: sufficient, a" always causes b" effect, all you need is a" to get b", others can produce b", necessary and sufficient, without a", b" will not happen, b" cannot be an effect with cause a". Multiple organic systems involved in psychopathology: brain/nervous system, gut/digestive system.
