For adult ocd, male = females: usually starts in adolescence, early in adulthood (can begin to show in childhood) Comorbidity: depression is the most common comorbid condition, 10x more common in ocd than in population generally. 33% of ocd patients have mdd when evaluated: mmd: major depression disorder. Symptoms: ritualistic & repetitive behaviours: compulsion in ocd. Classical conditioning of fear: when the environmental event happens again, they have anxiety and use repetitively to feel safer.
