Each class has its own values, lifestyles, and behaviours that influence family interaction and health care practices. Spiritual or religious beliefs, rituals, and practices can influence their ability to cope with or manage an illness or health concern. Refers to the larger community, neighbourhood, and home. Environment factors that may affect family functioning include availability or lack of adequate space and of access to schools, day care, recreation, and public transportation. Work with family members to create genograms and ecomaps to facilitate documentation and understanding of the family structure and its contact with outside individuals and organizations. Genogram: a sketch of the family structure and relevant information about family members. Includes data about ages, occupation, schooling, religion, ethnicity, current health status. Forms relational connection between family members and the nurse. Ecomap: a sketch of the family"s relationships with persons are groups outside the family.
