Deskilling; only make one small part rather than a whole thing (repetitive) Alienation; don"t feel very invested in it since you don"t do all of the work anymore. Status & gender; losing your place because that role is gone most became skilled workers and didn"t switch over to the business side; now have a boss, and don"t have control over their work anymore. Can"t run the entire system off of personal relationships. Rhythm of the work; at their own pace. Factory = time is money; strict sets of behaviour and timing to get things done. Top of hierarchy foreman; mistaken for master craftsmen; run shop/factory because they are the authority figure for the boss; enforce the rules of the boss. Semi-skilled workers/machine operators; some skill but is narrow and tied to the machine. Un-skilled labour/apprenticeships; increased amounts (hauling, cleaning, etc); anything that did not need skill to do. Not very big divide between farm and work; family did the work.
