Examples include schizophrenia, major depression with psychotic features, certain types. Schizophrenia is a disease of the brain. It is a psychotic disorder, which involves a loss of contact with reality, asking it very hard for a person to distinguish between what is real and what is not - schizo society of ontario; physical problem; biological theory. Heavily contested, not all agree with this definition (increasing support however) Alters how a person thinks and perceives the world, consequently how they feel and behave. Divided into symptoms that are (acute) positive and (chronic) negative.
