The kids in this study are 12 months old. Looked at whether kids understood other people"s perception. From the experimenter"s point of view, they see just the stuffed animal that is. One screen was opaque and the other was transparent behind the transparent screen, because the other stuffed animal is hidden by the opaque screen. The child should expect the adult to pick the stuffed animal that they see rather than the one that is hidden by the opaque screen. The kids look equally whether the experimenter chooses one rather the other. The baby is not only taking into account what they know. They now understand that the adult can see both stuffed animals and so they are not more likely to pick one over the other. However, because the experimenter only ever chooses the animal that he/she sees, the child does not know anything about the preference of the.
