Following childbirth, parents become more typical in their views of gender roles. In behaviour related to gender roles, they encourage some behaviours in one gender more than another. For example, girls playing with dolls, dressing up, and helping adults, while boys are more encouraged to play with blocks and play rough. Mild aggression is tolerated more in sons than daughters.
