Document Summary
Bones: list and describe the functions of bones. Support: bones keep ur body upright, support and structure. Ex: bones of ur skull: provide case that protects the brain. Bones make up the rib cage: sternum and ribs create the cage protect. Movement: bones can"t move alone, it move with skeletal muscle. Mineral homeostasis (storage and release): bone is important site of calcium storage: calcium level becomes too low & decreasing. Body starts to break down bone tissue & release that storage calcium. Brings calcium lv back to normal: calcium level becomes too high. Body starts to lay down bones to pull up that ca down and bring it back to normal. Blood cell production: red bone marrow - tissue that makes blood cell (make sure that red/white blood cells that also makes platelet) Triglyceride storage: yellow bone marrow is fat storage/ energy storage: compare the types of bones and provide examples of each.
