6529 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Red Blood Cell, List Of Lakes By Volume, Urinary Meatus

52 views4 pages
Crash course on urinary system
Functions of urinary system / kidneys
- Refulating your water volume, conerntrations and ph levels
- Influencing your red blood cell production and blood pressure
- Main purpose = how it filters toxic leftovers from your blood and gets rid of them
Kidneys = are filters
- Regulates baanceof salt and wtare in your body
Anatomy
Nephrons = where the steps of blood processing and pee making beigns
In 3 steps of producing urine
-Glomerular filtraon = is a process in which pressure forces fluids throught he glomerular
membrane. The filtration membrane allows free passage of water and soltues smaller than
plasma proteins. Is the renal process whereby fluid in the blood is filtered across the
ccapillaries of the glomerulus.
- The capillaries allow for fluid waste products ions, gluocose and amino acids to pass from
blood into the capsule but they block proteins and blood cells so they stay in the blood and
exit in the vasa recta

Document Summary

Refulating your water volume, conerntrations and ph levels. Influencing your red blood cell production and blood pressure. Main purpose = how it filters toxic leftovers from your blood and gets rid of them. Regulates baanceof salt and wtare in your body. Nephrons = where the steps of blood processing and pee making beigns. Glomerular filtraon = is a process in which pressure forces fluids throught he glomerular membrane. The filtration membrane allows free passage of water and soltues smaller than plasma proteins. Is the renal process whereby fluid in the blood is filtered across the ccapillaries of the glomerulus. The capillaries allow for fluid waste products ions, gluocose and amino acids to pass from blood into the capsule but they block proteins and blood cells so they stay in the blood and exit in the vasa recta. This rate is the volume of filtrated formed each minute by the kidney.
