Human embryological development shows the evolutionary pathway that we took to get. To understand from an evolutionary point of view here. How we belong in these different categories. We belong to a mess of evolutionary trees. To understand the anatomy we need to know where we came from since they can be tracked down to our evolutionary past. We derive our energy form an external source unlike plants that synthesize its own food that is what makes us animals. An animal is a living organisms capable of independent movement. Animals require an external energy source from oxygen and organic foods. Animal cells are surrounded by a cell membrane (rather than a rigid cell wall) From the stage that we are a zygote to the stage that the individual is born the fetus goes through stages that resembles our evolutionary past. It is difficult to distinguish the fetus of humans or fish or centipede at 6 week.
