Organism classification look at first few microbiology lecture notes. Kingdom = animalia- 3 main features of animals: Cells need to be surrounded by a cell membrane. 3 things needed to be a coelomate. Needs to have a fluid filled coelom. The gut tube needs to be suspended in the coelom. Phylum = chordata - to be a chordata we need: Subphylum = vertebrate- to be a vertebrate you needa: Class = mammalia - to be a mammal you need: Monotremes (lay eggs but feed young with milk) Marsupials (born prematurely, finish development in pouch) Eutherians (full development in uterus humans) Clavicle (collar bone) for free movement of upper limb. Thumb and big toe opposable (humans lost this through evolution but still considered in this group) Gluteus maximus allows for powerful hip extension in running and jumping. Gluteus medius and minimus prevent excessive tilting. Arched platform allows line of gravity straight through body able to stand on 2 feet.
