Among interventional studies there are different experimental designs, including: randomised controlled trials, non-randomised controlled trials. The standard experimental design usually involves the allocation of participants into at least two groups one experiences treatment whilst the other is the control/placebo and measurements of participant health are taken before and after the intervention. Experimental designs used in clinical trials are summarised using pico population, Compared to non-experimental designs, experimental designs provide better evidence about cause and effect such as whether a treatment causes any i(cid:373)pro(cid:448)e(cid:373)e(cid:374)t to a patie(cid:374)t(cid:859)s (cid:272)o(cid:374)ditio(cid:374).
