Abstract is the concise written version (300-500 words). Content focus: social/government restrictions on public participation and dissent/protest; activist responses. When considering this issue we think about what requires limitation and does it need to be constrained. Essentially dissent/protest is expressions of disapproval however these differ between the two: dissent: small scale often involving opinions and beliefs expressed through speech, protest: large scale which is often more social, public, organised, frequent and involving political arguments.
