Individual research essay: writing the essay (due friday 18th april: social groupings and free speech: social movements. Within the lectures and tutorials we have already covered: choosing the topic and thinking critically, the structure of the essay and argumentation, how to search for sources. It is also important to note that this essay is considered an argumentation exercise therefore the argumentation aspects of the essay (i. e. after the yes/no and but/but) are of utmost importance. The introduction and conclusion should feature no argumentation. The yes/no and but/but should demonstrate your ability to collect and evaluate relevant information. Return to yes/no is the heart of the argumentation and close attention should be paid. Note: minimum of 10 scholarly sources for a 1500 word essay. The conclusion should include: a reduced reiteration of the introduction, sub-conclusions, final statement with a killer ending.
