Ruler can be replaced by someone else in the family. Do not lose touch with their subjects. Intellectual challenges to dynastic regimes success is dependant on the strength of the regime, and not really the demographic weight of the group receiving education. Rulers buy off dissent with oil revenues. Economic wealth - gratitude - political support. Oil belongs to citizens, not ruling family, so no gratitude, rather complaints. Oil kings have a great deal more money - subject to inflation. Gulf arabs want the $ of ruling clans. Increasing revenue may have stabilizing effects in regime (but prob not)
