Because of their reputation as good kids, teachers allowed this. The boys would go to places where people they knew would not be. The boys would go to big town and drink, drive drunk, vandalize, and play pranks. They would drive recklessly through red lights, have their lights off, play chicken. Only stopped by big city policemen a couple of times, where they were given a warning or released.
