Passion can come and go rapidly: 3 possible relationships b/w intimacy and passion, 1) positive relationship: high passion = high intimacy, 2) negative relationship: intimacy up, passion down, 3) no relationship. Independent: 4) indirect relationship: passion may be related to change of intimacy than the level of intimacy, intimacy stable, passion dwindles.
