Should they take place?: the law"s primary goal: maintain stability while permitting change, the law accomplishes its primary goal by disputing resolutions, protecting property, and preserving the state, disputes can be criminal (theft) or noncriminal (auto accident), but there are rules/ societal remedies to resolve them to avoid private remedies such as revenge, the law protects an owner"s use of property and facilitates contracts (voluntary agreements) regarding the exchange of property and services, elections, legislation, and referenda (vs. revolution, sedition, and rebellion) bring changes in leadership. Classification of law: procedural law establishes the rules for enforcing the rights that exist by substantive, substantive law creates, defines, and regulates legal rights and duties; i. e. rules of law contract law that determine when a binding contract is formed, public law government"s rights and powers within itself and in relation to the public; constitutional law; criminal law; administrative law.
