Values cluster: values that together from a larger whole. Value contradictions: values that contradict one another; to follow the one means to come into conflict with the other. It is precisely at the point of value contradictions, then, that one can see a major force for social change in a society. Four interrelated core values: 1. leisure, 2. Culture wars: the clash in values between traditionalists and those advocating change, a term that is highly exaggerated.
