I feel as though the perception that women need to be smarter, work harder and be more qualified than men is an equality that is embedded into our already inherently unequal society. Power structures such as the media bar women from being able to be seen as equals and equally capable of holding the same high positions as men. Since the media in my opinion is the largest power structure that bars women from being able to be perceived as equal to men then the way to remedy the situation is through the media. In other words in order to fix the problem of women being seen as less than men, women need to stop being willing to let men belittle them through the use of the media.
