Document Summary

Everything is made for a purpose and has a function. A finished piece takes several steps and is a process. Each step is significant to the final piece. Coming up with a solution to the problem, working through the problem, creating, displaying, etc. Designing is for a purpose and to see how the public responds to a new product. Example: creation of abby cadabby on sesame street. The show needed a girl character, had to run several tests and go through many trials to come up with a successful character that coordinated with the other characters on the show. Example: joe sacco"s book palestine, he lived with palestinians to get the correct research for his project. Testing projects with people makes project more effective. Subject matter: people, animals, plants, places, etc that are depicted. In nonrepresentational art, it could be abstract and just simply represent something.
