Most water on earth probably originated during the formaion of the planet or from comets and other icy celesial objects that collided with the surface. Oceans make up 96. 5% of earth"s water which is mostly saline (salty) The atmosphere contains about 0. 004% of earth"s water. Nearly 69% of freshwater is in ice and snow in ice caps and glaciers. Hydrologic cycle the circulaion of water from one part of a water system to another. Evaporaion the conversion of liquid water molecules into gas molecules. Condensaion the conversion of gas water molecules into liquid molecules. Precipitaion the falling of liquid or solid water from airborne clouds due to a heavier weight as a result of precipitaion. Sublimaion the conversion of solid water molecules directly to gas. Iniltraion the seeping of precipitaion into groundwater through fractures, pores and waterbeds. Transpiraion the collecion of moisture and water by soil and living organisms. Evapotranspiraion combined loss of water via transpiraion and soil evaporaion.
