Chemical element (mineral) kitchen or pharmacy mineral that contains a diferent crystalline structure. Most minerals consist of at least two naturally occurring chemical elements. A few minerals (diamonds) include only one chemical element that are called naive elements. Rock a substance that is made up of several diferent minerals. All minerals are rocks, but not all rocks are minerals. Clasic rock rock consising of pieces derived from other rocks (clasts) Range from small sand grains to larger pebbles. Form on earth"s surface in low-temperature environments where sediment is deposited. Clasts can also compose volcanic rock, including those from explosions. Crystalline rock a rock composed of interlocking minerals that grew together. Form in high-temperature environments by crystallizaion of magma, metamorphism, or precipitaion from hot water or minerals in cooler waters.
