Briseis and chryseis were captured from a palace. Father of chryses (priest of apollo) comes to take back his daughter. Asks apollo to create a plague for the greeks. Give back chryseis and agamemnon took briseis from achilles. Achilles is enraged and goes to sulk in his tent. His mother thetis asks zeus to support the trojans until achilles gets the booty he deserves. Zeus agrees but is hesitant because his wife hera hates the trojans because prince paris chose aphrodite. Zeus give agamemnon a dream that if he were to attack troy immediately without achilles then they would win. Odysseus gives a rhetorical speech and convinces all the warriors to attack. Helped by his mother athena (hated trojans loved war) Paris has to fight menelaus for helen. Loses but aphrodite saves him before he dies. Brings helen and paris to three quarters. Agamemnon is declared the winner but war isn"t over.
