Koran views body as source of pleasure, women dangerous b/c men vulnerable to their charms (fitna- loss of control a man experiences in presence of attractive woman) Women dance at all-women parties, one at a time (try to out-do eachother), shows ability to fulfill role as wife/mother. Dance has become for some women a symbol of personal liberation. New influence towards women/dance influenced by crusades.
