Animals with many enemies and an easy-to-obtain food supply tend to be low in curiosity. Exploration is unlikely to obtain needed food and is dangerous. Animals with few enemies and difficult-to-obtain food tend to be high in curiosity. Exploration is relatively safe and likely to be useful in finding food. Curiosity is more likely to kill a rat than a cat. Displays and preattunements co-evolve: the selection of each. Over the course of individual development, social organization. Emerges naturally and directly as a self-organizing system. Elements are symbols which have an arbitrary relationship with the referent. Content consists of propositions: statements that are falsifiable. Elements are signs which have a natural relationship with the referent. Symbolic and spontaneous communication consist of 2 simultaneous communication and pseudo simultaneous communication. Spontaneous on one extreme is all that there is, predominates left side of graph. As you go to right, symbolic becomes more and more important until it predominates.
