Grains of Wheat:
Words are like grain, that will unexpectedly bloom from something tragic
In the poem, an egyptian king requests his coffin be filled with grains, that sprout
after time
“Perhaps these words will endure,
And live to see the light loom
And in the destined hour
Will unexpectedly bloom?
And like the primeval grain
That turned into a stalk
The words will nourish,
The words will belong
To the people, in its eternal walk.”
If so, I shall come there, come,
Open my mouth,
And like a lion
Garbed in fiery scarlet,
I shall swallow the language as it sets.
And wake all the generations with my roar!
