Spatial entitlement: a way that marginalized communities that have created new collectivities based not just upon eviction and exclusion from physical places, but also on new and creative uses of technology, creativity, and spaces. Alternative academies: minority groups created a social identity in places they were usually excluded from. This allowed them to express themselves in spaces were dominated by white people. It brought african american and chicanx people together due to their common struggle. ): luisa moreno is a latina labor and civil rights activists who organized latino, black and italian cigar rollers in florida as well as migrant workers in rio grande valley. Charlotta bass was the editor of a black newspaper based in la as well as an activist who campaigned against racial brutalities exacted upon mexican american soot suiters during the summer of 1943. Both charlotta bass and luisa moreno deployed spatial entitlement as a mechanism for fighting racial discrimination and spatial exclusion.
