Long term practice can be divided into two subcategories restorative care and long term care. Long-term care includes the different kinds of help that people with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or other conditions that limit them physically or mentally need. This type of care is provided in various setting such as nursing home, facilities for mentally and emotionally disturbed, assisted living facilities and adult and senior day care centers. Often used to help people live at home rather than in institutions. The final level of practice in the health care delivery is end-of-life practice. 2012 the number of civilians employed in the health service industry was 13. 4 million: 1 out of every 10 employed civilians in the us. 2/5 of health care employees work in hospitals. Work in outpatient care settings: offices and clinics, dentists, chiropractors, optometrists, other health practitioners and, outpatient centers. 1/6 work in nursing and residential care facilities. Remaining 1/6 work in home health care or other setting.
