Thoughts, my life sucks i"m so lucky . Emotions are important means of human connection and communication. A theory of emotion that proposes that physical sensations lead to subjective feelings. Emotions is the result of a sequence starting with a primary physiological response. First comes conscious awareness, then the feeling. For example, when your heart races & you begin to shake, and the feeling of fear follows your body"s response. The cannon-bard theory of emotion (contradicts james-lange) Theory of emotion that an emotion-arousing stimulus simultaneously triggers physiological response and subjective feeling, happens at same time. For example, your heart pounds as you experience fear at the same time. Those who do not experience bodily response and emotional experience at the same time & do not have an effect on the other, cannon-bard believed one would have a spinal cord injury. The schacter-singer two factor theory: arousal + label = emotion.
