Document Summary

Team is the gathering of individuals with a common goal at mind. In hopes of succeeding at accomplishing that common goal. Can also be known as specialized groups. When a challenge starts to escalate, the principle of team work becomes more important than ever. Selling the concept of a team can be difficult at times due to the individual culture. The individual culture is a culture that emphasizes individualistic accomplishments and feats. 4 characteristic differences between teams and standard groups. Teams usually tend to manifest a higher and increased level of cooperation and cohesiveness than standard groups, this is the main difference. This happens due to the existence of a common goal requiring members to form and have collaborative interdependence. Teams consist of multiple members with their own unique and diverse skillsets. This is important because for a team to be a good and well running one it needs complementary, but not identical skills.
