Who define weather as the state of the atmosphere at a given time and place. The 5 variables used to determine the state of the atmposphere are: Weather is short term, whereas climate is long term. Climate is the average weather condition of a place. Wind is air movement that arises from differences in air pressure. Windchill: provides a measure of the heat loss from exposed skin as a result of the combined effects of low temperatures and wind speed. Pressure gradient force: results from the drop in air pressure per unit of disrance. The pressure gradient force drives the flow of air. The coriolis force: deviation from a straight line of the path of a moving body as a result of earths rotation. The coriolis force influences the direction of airflow. Friction: resistance to movement that results when 2 bodies are in contact.
