Here are the details on our final exam, to be held on monday, 11 december from 8:30 to 10:30 a. m. in the pitzer recital hall, our usual classroom. As you know, the listening portion is cumulative. As stated in the syllabus, there are no make-ups for the final exam. The breakdown of the exam is as follows: listening identification (45 points). You will be asked to identify fifteen examples, chosen from all the selections we have listened to during the quarter. Prepare to give the title and, where applicable, the composer, and the style period. You should also be able to recognize salient elements of music in a given example, and cultural context. In at least one question you will be asked to identify timbres, as found in canvas. There is only exception: note that i have substituted john cage"s 4"33""for the symphony by. Anton webern.
