Paradigms: fundamental frames of ref: don"t explain, rather give logical frameworks which theories are created in. Patterns happen but logical explanations are what theories aim to seek. Anomalies: events that fall outside the pattern. Theoretical paradigms may fluctuate in popularity but will rarely be eliminated. Macrotheory perspective: large entities of society, maybe even whole societies: economic classes, international relations, relations between big institutions (government, religion etc) Microtheory perspective: social life issues @ individual, small group levels. Theological state, metaphysical stage, science replacing religion & metaphysics. Comte"s view formed the foundation for developing social sciences.
