Memory learning that has persisted over time, information that has been stored and can be retrieved. Evidence of memory is: recall retrieving information that is not currently in your conscious awareness, recognition identifying items previously learned, relearning learning something more quickly when you learn it a second time. Russian journalist shreshevskii (s) could remember 70 where most can only do 7. He could recall digits or words backwards as easily as forward. Could even recall over many years ago what he had been tested on. Some tests: remembering 90% of the pictures that you have seen once before after a second set of pictures are shown, being able to determine an image from a bunch of fragments. Memory models: information-processing models are analogies that compare human memory to a computer"s operations.
