Courts - created by gov to settle disputes. Judges in federal court are chosen by the president for life. District court - general trial courts in federal system. Circuit court of appeals - appeals will go here and decision is final. Ca (4), ny (4), il (3) , wi (2) Court of appeals - hears appeals from district courts. Court of appeals review decisions made from tax and bankruptcy courts. Appellate courts - reviews appeals to see if trial court committed an error. Will reverse modify or remand back to the lower court. Reviews decisions of the federal courts of appeals and cases from the highest state courts. Special courts - u. s court of federal claims, bankruptcy courts, tax court, court of appeals. U. s court of federal claims - hears claims against us.
