Traits have two important purposes to predict behavior and to understand behavior. In order to find if there are connections you need to see if it is valid. The single trait approach- studies what the person of that trait does and the connection between behavior and personality. Typological approach- stems from doubt and hope, this approach fixes on patterns of the trait that makes the person up as a whole. Narcissism- excessive self love which is also consider a personality disorder. The big five and beyond- the lexical hypothesis is the fact that if something is truly meaningful enough there will be a word for it in every language.
