Physical components e. g. monitor, processor, hard drive, etc. Programs/apps (sets of instructions for computer) e. g. linux, microsoft word, google chrome. Input - devices that take an input (e. g. mouse, keyboard, microphone) Output - devices that output information (e. g. monitor, printer, speaker) Memory - device that stores information (e. g. hard drive, solid state drive, flash drive) Processor - device that processes data and controls computer (aka cpu) Memory that is erased when the power supply is removed. Random access memory (ram) (fast memory that stores data for running programs + the programs, can be written to in random order) Memory that is retained when the power supply is removed. Memory that is directly accessed by the processor (e. g. ram, rom, registers) Memory that is not directly accessed by the processor (e. g. hdd, ssd, cd/dvd)
