In order to bring us the news, media must employ people in varied positions: Journalist/reporter: uncovers news stories, keeps an eye on public interest: once they have a lead, they will research background information and conduct interviews. Editor: work in the background assigning stories, approving articles, editing content for accuracy and clarity. Publisher: own and produce print/digital media, oversee the content and finances of the publication, ensure that the organization turns a profit. Media differs from public relations, which is communication carried out to improve the image of a business or individual. Media is meant to be more neutral, pr is not neutral. Pr usually takes the form of advertisements and press releases.
